Hello Seven’s 2021 Year End Review

Rachel Rodgers

30 Dec 2021

2021 has been a HUGE year for me and my company, Hello Seven. We’re talking revenue growth, team growth, a book launch, and leveling up across the board.

All in all, I’m damn proud of what we’ve accomplished this year.

We made a lot of money. As of the day I'm writing this, December 23, we've increased our revenue by 97.92% from last year, and we hit the revenue goal we’d set for the year by November 3rd. Looking back, I am honestly over-the-moon about our financial growth. We were even recognized by the Inc. 5000, because we’ve had 500% growth over the last 3 years. We made the transition from a 7-figure to an 8-figure company this year, and oooh, it feels SO good.

We grew our team. All that growth would not have been possible without the people who made it happen. In 2021, we grew our team exponentially. At this time last year, we were a team of 8 full-time employees — now, we have a team of 25 full-time employees, including a talented leadership team, each one contributing their unique genius to our mission. Scaling our team this way allowed us to serve more folks on a higher level — we started The Club with just a few hundred members, and now we have a few thousand members.

We launched a book. My first book, We Should All Be Millionaires, hit the shelves in May 2021. Since then, over 50,000 copies have been sold, and we were selected as a Wall Street Journal Bestseller, a USA Today Bestseller, and one of Audible’s best books of 2021. That’s 50,000 people developing a whole new attitude about money, disrupting their routines and habits in the best possible way, and feeling empowered to build the wealth that will change their lives AND the world. (If you’re one of those 50k, go ahead and leave us a review so that more folks can join this movement!)

We upgraded The Club experience. This year, we served 4,232 clients. We also launched a brand new onboarding program, the companion course to my book, and The Growth Scale Course — an on-demand roadmap to 7 figures and beyond. And, for the first time ever, we published a Holiday Gift Guide that highlighted incredible products created by our very own Club members! Plus, we had our first in-person retreat for clients since the pandemic began.

We created The Hello Seven Foundation. Thus far, we’ve raised $175,600 for Black moms in need, providing 20 mothers with life-changing, life-saving services like doulas, night nurses, and childcare. Oh, and did I mention we launched this nonprofit in just two weeks? I am so honored to be able to support other Black moms, and grateful to all those who helped provide funds for parents in need this year. Plus, we had a wonderful time getting together for this cause during the Holiday Dinner at the Rodgers Ranch — and of course, all the proceeds have gone directly to Black moms in need.

We launched The Hello Seven Swag Shop! In just a few weeks, we put together an online store filled with brand new, beautiful Hello Seven apparel, coffee mugs, tote bags, and more exclusive merch. It’s so fun being in the merch business. Maybe you should get yourself a ‘lil something something?

We released our first ever Assessment. The Growth Scale Assessment tells folks where they fall on the Hello Seven Growth Scale™️, and provides tailored advice based on their level of business growth. And on the back end we built a system to store, analyze, and act on all that data. All around, it’s a win-win situation for us AND our Assessment takers.

We evolved internally as a company. This year, we built out our processes and policies to take care of the 25 amazing humans (and counting) on our ever-growing team. Three team members were able to take maternity leave this year, and we developed a maternity leave policy that we can continue to offer in years to come. For the first time, our leadership team gathered together in person for annual planning. Plus, we created a sexy systems playbook that helps things run smoothly, and we set ourselves up with lots of internal systems upgrades to help the business run on autopilot.

I grew personally, and took care of me and my fam. In 2021, I secured a deal with Facebook (the deal that has you reading this article right now!). I also helped my mother-in-law buy a house, and hired a Black teacher full-time to homeschool my kids (so they could learn Black history and culture everyday not one month out of the year). I bought a beach house for my family and spent my summer hosting tons of loved ones there, took my family on an epic vacation⁣, renovated my Ranch, opened my retreat house, and bought mad Black art.⁣ All in all, not a bad year for the Rodgers family!

We learned a ton. With evolution comes hard lessons learned — AKA, growing pains! While it was incredible to support 3 team members on their maternity leave, some gaps in the business during those months taught us that we need to prepare for leaves by hiring additional hands, and that the absence of any one team member should never be so impactful. We’re now working to fill out our team more fully and systematize as much as we can moving forward. This is why my word for the year in 2022 is margin. More margin in the business, more margin for our team, more margin for me personally. Margin, margin, margin. This is all just part of the transition from a 7-figure business to an 8-figure business. We’re grateful to have learned these lessons in 2021!

So — what’s on deck for 2022?

What served us up to now isn’t necessarily what will serve us moving forward, so we’re excited to innovate and take things up a notch.

We’ve got a robust plan to grow our team and serve them even better in 2022.

And we’re aiming to raise at least $1 million in donations for the Hello Seven Foundation, so we can support more Black moms in need next year.

Not to mention we’ll be hosting a Club conference, re-launching the Hello Seven podcast, AND I may just be working on a second book (more on that soon!).

Plus, after working with entrepreneurs in The Club for the last 19 months, we’ve learned a LOT and gathered a ton of data, and so…

We’re excited to begin working with entrepreneurs a little differently next year!

Starting in January, my coaching team and I are going to be working more closely with entrepreneurs making $500k and up.⁣

We’re running two exclusive, year-long Masterminds — one for those who want to hit 7 figures next year, ⁣and one for entrepreneurs making $1M+ who want to keep scaling and growing their business to multi-millions. ⁣

If you’re interested in connecting with my coaching team and fellow entrepreneurs at your revenue level in 2022, we’d love to review your application!

xo,

R
